Specialty:
Every person is unique and valuable. I believe in the good in each of us and that we are all connected in our experience of being human. Sometimes part of the human experience is that we become lost, feel alone, or disconnected not only from others but from ourselves. I have worked with a wide variety of clients throughout my years in the field of counseling and offer a safe and supportive environment to help individuals, families, and couples navigate their way through difficult times. I offer support around mental health struggles, relationships, low self-esteem, finding direction, and meaning, along with other hurdles that we may encounter on our journey through life.
What will sessions look like?
Being a supportive, honest, and non-judgmental therapist has been the greatest gift I've been able to offer to others. I aim to create a space of warmth and compassion to foster an environment of safety. I often use humor and never assume I am an expert in anyone else's life. I am here to be a voice to pain or trauma, a moment of laughter to gain perspective, or a safe space when sometimes the feelings are too big. I believe that whatever the goals may be in therapy, you can expect that it will be a collaboration always done with genuine care and compassion.
Other Specialties:
I have worked for over a decade providing in-home therapy to adolescents and families, focusing on a wide range of problematic behaviors that arise in the adolescent years. I love working with families however I also find great fulfillment in working with individuals and couples. For several years I have been a supervisor to dozens of other therapists which has allowed me great insight not only from my direct work with clients but also through hearing about and working to understand countless additional families that participated in our program. I hold a good pulse on the needs of the people in our Colorado communities and utilize a range of strategies and theoretical approaches to help clients move toward their goals. At times there is a need for a concrete, structured approach to working through problems and other times may call for work in untangling deeply layered thoughts and emotions. Either way, I am here to be the sounding board and guiding hand through the process.
My experience and training have allowed me to successfully work on many therapeutic issues such as:

Bio:
I am a Colorado native with a deep love for this beautiful state. I grew up in a military family and my childhood included roaming outdoors with my older brothers and helping my mother care for the many pets we had, including horses. I find great joy in being outside but also work hard to make my home a space of happiness and comfort for me and my family. I find my fish tank hobby brings me great peace even when the world feels out of control. I also invest time in playing billiards and enjoy playing competitively in Colorado as well as in other states.
I am happily married to my husband of 11 years. I have an adult stepson that blessed us with a beautiful grandbaby, and we have two more little boys that bring so much light and love to our lives. I've had to go through the parenting learning curve several times over since our children span across so many years, portions of which included the challenges of co-parenting and working through the adolescent stages. I strive to push myself to grow personally but also allow time to just be me, slow down, and soak in all that life brings.
